We are talking about two of the worlds highest quality auto interior accessory manufacturers. MOMO has been known for over 40 years as a leader in the industry, when you see a steering wheel you can tell if it’s a MOMO just by its style. On the other side we have SHUTT a relatively new company only being in the interior styling accessories game for 15 years but gaining ground rapidly.

Competition always makes businesses perform better and with that in mind you can probably expect these companies to compete for your attention in the future. MOMO has it’s name already established but after attending the 2008 SEMA show it is clear that the public is waking up to SHUTT and loving it. Comments at the SHUTT booth were very positive and many actually asked where they could buy the products for their own rides.

These two companies have similarities like high quality and unique designs but where they differ is when it comes to price, SHUTT being the more affordable of the two usually by a whopping 20%. Everyone knows that MOMO is high quality with a high price, some say It’s worth it. Former president Jeff Wyler of Jeff Wyler Automotive Family Inc. was in town Thursday to accept Toyota’s 2006 Presidential Award, the second for the Springfield dealership which previously received the award in 2003.

Toyota spokesperson Jodi Peery said that Jeff Wyler Toyota, one of 348 recognized dealerships all over the nation, is the only area dealership to win the award.

Toyota, maker of quality Toyota strut mounts, collected the outcomes from survey data. The data was based by the Japanese company’s award giving on the following areas: customer satisfaction in sales, service and parts, training, and sales standards.

In Springfield’s region that includes Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Michigan, 35 out of 118 dealers bested and won the award.

For customer satisfaction, Jeff Wyler Toyota got the 14th spot in the region. The dealership has also sent more than 80 percent of its staff for training at Toyota University.

The company, which is now led by Co-presidents David Wyler and Scott Bristow, Wyler’s son and son-in-law, respectively, pursues to keep a strong local presence.

Jeff Wyler is in daily contact with his co-presidents and still keeps a close eye on the business he initiated in 1973, although he no longer has official operational responsibilities now.

In 2000, he assumed local ownership and stated that the Springfield location will be a solid business with many repeat customers while there has not been dramatic growth.

The dealership at 1501 Hillcrest Ave. sold nearly 620 Toyotas last year, according to General Manager Jay Lawrence.

Jeff Wyler said that next year, he expects to build a new Toyota facility at the location. But he did not give a construction date for the reason that the Springfield dealership has to wait until a Louisville facility is completed. He stated his gratitude regarding their relationship in Springfield. According to him, the city has been very good to them and they wish that they have been equally good to the city in return.
