Dr. Rudolph Halvert asked:

I’ve heard the .58 springfield hits with about 1,200 foot pounds of force, while the .50 BMG is about 12,000!
I assume the BGS’s bullet is slightly heavier, and fired at about 2800 f.p.s., where as the springfiels is 1500 f.p.s.!
But I still fail to see how this makes it 10 times more powerful!
From a scientific standpoint you would think it’d just be 2 or 3 times more powerful! Anyone know why? Thanks!

Can you buy an M1a scout rifle if you are under 21 in the state of Maryland? Or is it considered a regulated firearm like handguns and AR15s?

Its a 45 XD 4″ Barrel.
I want to get some of those Horandy 45 ACP+P TAP rounds, 230 grain FPD. Am I going to have any problems with this?
What about extra wear on the gun?

Jason The Great asked:

I want to purchase my first gun (I already own a .22, but it was given to me), and I really like the Springfield XD.
I am unsure what caliber I should purchase.

I’m leaning towards the 9mm because of the price of ammo.
I’m leaning towards the .45 because of the raw power.
Should I compromise and get a .40?

Any help in my decision would be much appreciated!
Just a footnote: I would rent them all to make my decision, but that option isn’t exactly available where I live.

It has a date marking that puts it in september of 74, but I don’t know anything else about it. The Remington website lists quite a few different variations. I don’t know which of those mine is, or what the difference between them all is. (I am trying to figure out if it is a good buy or not, please help.)
Ok, now that I know a little bit more, i have a few more questions. Mine has the normal barrel, no place for a magazine, and a black **** cap. As far as I can tell, it looks identical to the modern BDL but without a floor plate. So i still don’t know if it is a BDL or an ADL, or what the difference between those is. Thanks so much for your help.

I have a Springfield XD 45. I need to adjust the rear sights but they are about impossible to move. I looked for sight adjusting tools but cant find any that are not for the Glock. Guess being because the XD is fairly new on the market.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
There is no hex to adjust or anything in the manual, also tried tapping , it movet but not much. And I had to hit it hard and **** to do that.
